84 UBC/VCC–Clark Station is a bus route operated by Coast Mountain Bus Company in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Route Details
This is an east-west express route connecting the University of British Columbia with the Millennium Line at VCC–Clark Station, running primarily on 4th Avenue. It provides an alternative east-west express service to the 99 B-Line. Service runs daily every 15 minutes during off-peak and every 12–15 minutes during peak hours. On Saturdays, service runs every 15–20 minutes and every 30 minutes on Sundays/holidays.
Eastbound trips depart VCC–Clark Station heading south on Keith Drive, west on Great Northern Way becoming W. 2nd Avenue, W. 6th Avenue, W. 4th Avenue, and Chancellor Boulevard, then south on Wesbrook Mall to UBC Exchange.
Westbound trips depart UBC Exchange heading north on Wesbrook Mall, east on Chancellor Boulevard becoming W. 4th Avenue, W. 6th Avenue, W. 2nd Avenue, and Great Northern Way, then north on Glen Drive, and east on bus access road to VCC–Clark Station.

History
- July 2005 - Service proposed as route 46 to reduce pressure on the 99 B-Line and to terminate at Broadway Station; revised to connect at VCC–Clark instead during consultation stage[1]
- January 2006 - Service commenced with the opening of VCC–Clark Station; service provided weekdays only from approximately 6:45 AM to 7:30 PM at 15-minute intervals [2]
- September 2007 - Service is improved on Saturdays with 15-minute frequency and Sundays with 20-minute frequency. [3]
- February 1–28, 2010 - Vancouver 2010 Olympic service: Introduction of late-evening service daily[4]
- August 2014 - UBC terminus moved onto Wesbrook Mall due to UBC Aquatic Centre construction work and bus loop reconstruction[5]
- June 2016 - UBC terminus moved from Wesbrook Mall to Student Union Bouelvard[6]
- April 2019 - UBC terminus moved from Student Union Boulevard to inside UBC Exchange
- January 2021 - COVID-19 service adjustment: Peak hour service reduced from every 4–9 minutes to every 6–10 minutes. Midday weekday service reduced from every 12 minutes to every 15 minutes
- January 31, 2022 - Bus stop adjustments in preparation of articulated bus service:
- Discontinued – EB W. 6th Avenue & Alder Crossing, EB E. 2nd Avenue & Main Street, WB W. 6th Avenue & Ash Street
- Introduced – EB E. 2nd Avenue & Lorne Street, EB W. 6th Avenue & Alder Street
- March 7, 2022 - Articulated bus service introduced after being delayed from the original launch date of January 3, 2022, due to delays in adjusting select stops to fit articulated buses and delays in the delivery of the buses
- April 2023 - AM peak hour service reduced from every 8–9 minutes to every 9–10 minutes; PM peak hour service reduced from every 10–12 minutes to every 12–15 minutes. Evening eastbound service reduced from every 12 minutes to every 15 minutes
- April 2024 - Various weekday service adjustments:
- AM peak hour service reduced from every 9–11 minutes to every 12–15 minutes
- PM peak hour service reduced from every 12 minutes to every 15 minutes
