This is an east-west circular route running in Richmond connecting Richmond–Brighouse Station and the Crestwood Corporate Centre in East Richmond. Service runs during peak hours only every 30 minutes.
Trips depart Richmond–Brighouse Station heading west on Anderson Road, north on No. 3 Road, east on Lansdowne Road, north on Garden City Road, east on Alderbridge Way, north on No. 4 Road, east on Cambie Road, south on No. 5 Road, east on McNeely Drive, east on Jack Bell Drive, north on Jacombs Road, east on Cambie Road, south on No. 6 Road, west on Wireless Way, and north on Commerce Parkway to Commerce Parkway & International Place. Continuing from Commerce Parkway & International Place, trips head north on Commerce Parkway, north on No. 6 Road, west on Cambie Road, south on Jacombs Road, west on Jack Bell Drive, west on McNeely Drive, north on No. 5 Road, west on Cambie Road, south on No. 4 Road, west on Alderbridge Way, south on Garden City Road, west on Lansdowne Road, south on No. 3 Road, east on Saba Road, south on Buswell Street, and west on Anderson Road to its terminus.
December 2004 - Service introduced as C96 East Cambie/Richmond Centre, connecting Richmond Centre, the Crestwood employment area and residential areas along Cambie Road. Service ran every 30 minutes during peak hours and hourly during off-peak hours[1]
September 2005 - Route became bike rack equipped
August 2007 - Service re-routed for Canada Line construction to travel east on Cook Road, northbound along Cooney and then Lansdowne Road and its regular route eastbound[2]
September 2009 - Westbound routing near Brighouse Station revised following the completion of the Canada Line. Routing revised to go via regular route, Lansdowne, No. 3, Saba to terminus instead of regular route, Lansdowne, Cooney, Cook, Buswell, Park to terminus
September 2014 - Off-peak and evening service discontinued[3]
May 2017 - Service proposed to be discontinued due to low ridership and service duplication by the 410 along Cambie Road and No. 6 Road[4]
April 2018 - Service discontinuation proposal reverted following public consultations and proposal amended to reroute service along Westminster Highway between No. 4 Road and Garden City Road, Cambie Road, Jack Bell Drive and McNeely Drive[5]
September 2018 - Community Shuttle branding dissolved: Route renumbered from C96 to 416 with no changes in routing or frequency[6]
