255 Dundarave/Capilano University is a bus route operated by West Vancouver Transit under contract with TransLink in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Route Details

This is an east-west route connecting Dundarave in West Vancouver and Capilano University in North Vancouver. Service runs daily every 20 minutes on weekdays. Service on weekends/holidays run every 30 minutes.

Eastbound trips depart from Dundarave at Marine Drive & 25th Street heading east on Marine, merging onto 3rd Street W., north on Lonsdale Avenue, east on 15th Street E., south on Grand Boulevard E., east on Keith Road E., merging onto Fern Street, then north on Lillooet Road, south on Monashee Drive to Capilano University.

Westbound trips depart from Capilano University heading north on Monashee Drive, west on Lillooet Road, merging onto Fern Street and Keith Road E., then north on Grand Boulevard E., west on 15th Street E., south on Lonsdale Avenue, west on 3rd Street W. becoming Marine Drive, north on 24th Street, west on Haywood Avenue, south on 25th Street, and west on Marine Drive to Dundarave at Marine & 25th Street.

Evening service runs between Capilano University and Park Royal only. The first westbound trips start at 15th Street E. & Grand Boulevard E.

History

• May 1996 - Route introduced on a six-month trial as 255 Cedardale/Park Royal running during the day from Monday–Saturday
• September 1996 - Trial service extended to January 1997 to assess route performance and allow residents more time to use the service
• November 1999 - Route introduced as 255 Dundarave / Lynn Valley Centre
• November 2008 - Route extended from Lynn Valley Centre to Capilano University
• April 2020 - Service to Lynn Valley Centre discontinued and replaced with an extension of the 240; route diverted to serve Lower Lonsdale. Introduction of later nighttime service daily between Park Royal and Capilano University and discontinuation of 255 Capilano Mall Only westbound short-turn trips
• September 2021 - Weekday midday service increased from every 30 minutes to every 20 minutes and PM peak hour service reduced from every 15 minutes to every 20 minutes
