618 Ladner North/Ladner Exchange is a Community Shuttle route operated by Coast Mountain Bus Company in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Route Details

This is a north-south circular route running in the northern part of Ladner in Delta. Service on weekdays and Saturdays alternate between a clockwise routing and a counterclockwise routing, each running hourly with a combined half-hourly service. Service on Sundays/holidays runs hourly and in the clockwise routing only. During peak hours, service is supplemented by the 606 Ladner Ring and the 608 Ladner Ring.

Clockwise routing departs Ladner Exchange heading north on Harvest Drive, west on Ladner Trunk Road, north on Central Avenue, west on Linden Drive, Westminster Avenue, then Ferry Road to Ferry Road & Commodore Drive, where it returns to Ladner Exchange by continuing on Ferry Road, east on Admiral Way, south on Admiral Boulevard, Westminster Avenue, then Crescent Drive, 52nd Avenue, south on 57 Street, east on Ladner Trunk Road, and south on Harvest Drive to Ladner Exchange.

Counterclockwise routing departs Ladner Exchange heading north on Harvest Drive, west on Ladner Trunk Road, north on 57 Street, west on 52 Avenue, then Crescent Drive, Westminster Avenue, then Admiral Boulevard, west on Admiral Way, south on Ferry Road to Ferry Road & Commodore, where it returns to Ladner Exchange by continuing on Ferry Road, west on Westminster Avenue, then Linden Drive, south on Central Avenue, east on Ladner Trunk Road, and south on Harvest Drive to Ladner Exchange.

History

• December 2005 - Service introduced as C88 Ladner North/Ladner Exchange and introduced Sunday/holiday service and improved Saturday service to the Ladner area; replaced Saturday service formerly provided by the 606 Ladner Ring and 608 Ladner Ring
• December 2007 - Service revised to service the Marina Gardens Estate and routing extended north of Commodore Drive along Admiral Boulevard, Admiral Way, and Ferry Road; service on Commodore Drive discontinued. First weekday trip departing from Ladner Exchange revised to route via regular route, then Ladner Trunk Road, 47A Avenue, 51 Street, 47 Avenue, Delta Street, 46A Avenue, Ladner Trunk Road, then the regular Ladner North routing when school was in session to service Delta Secondary School
• Fall 2008 - Operations transferred from Richmond Transit Centre to Surrey Transit Centre
• April 2009 - Service restructured: Due to requests from passengers, service revised to operate in an alternating clockwise and counterclockwise routing. Trips at the bottom of the hour (i.e. 8:30) revised to travel the route in the counterclockwise direction while trips at the top of the hour (i.e. 8:00) remained on the original clockwise routing
• September 2011 - Alternate routing on the first weekday trip to service Delta Secondary School discontinued
• May 2017 - Service proposed to reroute onto 60 Avenue and to service a new transfer facility at Highway 99 & Highway 17A; remove service on Crescent Drive and 57 Street. Service change would go through pending on opportunity for a new transit connection at Highway 99 & Highway 17A
• September 2018 - Community Shuttle branding dissolved: Route renumbered from C88 to 618 with no changes in routing or frequency
• September 2020 - Operations moved from Surrey Transit Centre to Hamilton Transit Centre
