Production Way–University is a SkyTrain station in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Station Details

Sometimes referenced simply as Production, Production Way–University is located at Lougheed Highway and Production Way. The station is located directly east of the Lake City industrial park and at the base of Burnaby Mountain, close to nearby Simon Fraser University. The station serves as a hub for Simon Fraser University students connecting to/from 145 SFU, SkyTrain, and other local bus services.

The Expo Line was extended to Production Way–University on October 22, 2016, making it one of the three Expo Line terminus stations. Production Way–University was the only station on the Expo Line to retain its original Millennium Line branding until it was changed to the current station signage branding style in June 2017. When the station opened, Production Way–University was displayed as Production Way/University on station signage.

As part of TransLink's Proximity Enabled Accessible Entrances project, proximity sensors were to be installed at all accessible faregates at Production Way–University as part of a trial before a system-wide installation. The sensors were installed in late-October 2017.

The station was designed by Hotson Bakker Architects and the superstructure and sweeping roof design is a reference to the architecture of Simon Fraser University. Production Way–University uses steel frames to form and support the roof canopy. Its side walls were prefabricated by Solid Rock Steel of Vancouver and were lifted piece by piece onto the guideway. The side walls are adorned with coloured stained glass.

On May 21, 2007, the bus loop closed to facilitate commercial development on the land adjacent to the station. The closure resulted in the relocation of buses to load on the street. The loop reopened on July 28, 2008.
