This is an east-west bus service connecting Lougheed Station in Burnaby and Carvolth Exchange in Langley along the Trans-Canada Highway. Service runs daily every 30 minutes, increasing to every 12 minutes during peak hours.
Eastbound trips depart Lougheed Station heading west on Gatineau Place, south on Austin Road becoming Government Street, and onto the Highway 1 HOV on-ramp at Government Street and heads east on Highway 1 and over the Port Mann Bridge, exiting at the 156 Street HOV exit. Continuing from 156 Street, the route merges back onto Highway 1 and exits at the 202 Street HOV exit and heads south on 202 Street to Carvolth Exchange.
Westbound trips depart Carvolth Exchange heading north on 202 Street, then west on Highway 1, taking the 156 Street HOV exit, then returning back onto Highway 1 and across the Port Mann Bridge, then taking the Government Street HOV exit, then north on Government Street becoming Austin Road, east on Gatineau Place to Lougheed Station.
October 2007 - Service proposed as part of an agreement between TransLink and the provincial government for establishing a Highway 1 bus service made up of 20 buses, HOV lanes and bus-only access roads, and bus loops at 156 Street and 200 Street[1]
December 1, 2012 - Service introduced, running directly between Braid Station and Carvolth Exchange[2]
September 2014 - Stop introduced at Highway 1 off-ramp (HOV) & 156 Street[3]
November 2019 - 2019 Strike results in appearances by New Flyer Industries XDE60 in an effort to increase capacity after cancelling trips. Lougheed Station stop at Bay 8 moved to Bay 1 in order to accommodate artics
September 2020 - COVID-19 service adjustment: Peak hour service reduced from every 7–10 minutes to every 10 minutes. Midday weekday service reduced from every 20 minutes to every 30 minutes. Saturday service midday service reduced from every 20 minutes to every 30 minutes
April 2021 - COVID-19 service adjustment: Peak hour service reduced from every 10 minutes to every 12 minutes
January 2022 - COVID-19 service adjustment: Peak hour service reduced from every 12 minutes to every 15 minutes
April 2024 - Peak hour service increased from every 15 minutes to every 12 minutes. Evening weekday service reduced from every 15 minutes to every 20 minutes
