562 Langley Centre/Walnut Grove is a Community Shuttle route contracted to Transdev from Coast Mountain Bus Company in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Route Details

This is a north-south route running in Langley connecting Langley Centre and Carvolth Exchange via Fort Langley. Service runs daily every 30 minutes and every hour on Sundays/holidays and daily in the evening.

Northbound trips depart Langley Centre heading east on Logan Avenue, north on Glover Road, east on University Drive to Trinity Western University to turn around at the cul-de-sac, then west on University Drive, north on Glover Road, west on 96 Avenue, south on Trattle Street, west on 88 Avenue, north on Walnut Grove Drive, north on 212 Street, west on 96 Avenue, north on 210 Street, west on 96 Avenue, south on 204 Street, west on 88 Avenue, and south on 202 Street to Carvolth Exchange.

Southbound trips depart Carvolth Exchange heading north on 202 Street, east on 88 Avenue, north on 204 Street, east on 96 Avenue, south on 210 Street, east on 93 Avenue, south on 212 Street, west on Walnut Grove Drive, east on 88 Avenue, north on Trattle Street, east on 96 Avenue, south on Glover Road, east on University Drive to Trinity Western University to turn around at the cul-de-sac, then south on Glover Road, west on Locke Lane, north on 203A Street, and east on Logan Avenue to Langley Centre.

Trips on early weekday mornings, weekday and Saturday evenings, and all-day Sunday/holidays do not service Trinity Western University and continue on Glover Road.

On weekdays when school is in session, additional service is provided by Coast Mountain Bus Company using conventional buses. In the morning, supplemental trips run once in both directions with no changes in routing except bypassing Trinity Western University. In the afternoon, there are two trips toward Walnut Grove and one toward Langley Centre. One of the trips running towards Walnut Grove starts at the 9000 Block of Trattle Street heading north on Trattle Street, east on 96 Avenue, south on Glover Road, and west on 88 Avenue, where it continues the regular 562 routing to Carvolth Exchange.

History

• December 2002 - Service introduced as C62 Langley Centre/Walnut Grove to replace portions of the 507 Walnut Grove/Langley Centre
• December 2012 - Service rerouted to Carvolth Exchange to connect with the 555 Port Mann Express
• January 2014 - Service to the former Walnut Grove Park and Ride discontinued. Service revised to terminate at Carvolth Exchange
• June 2018 - Community Shuttle branding dissolved: service renumbered from C62 to 562 with no changes in routing or frequency
• September 2019 - School Special trips introduced following the discontinuation of the Langley Fine Arts School Special
• September 2020 - Introduction of service into Trinity Western University on Monday to Saturday trips and introduction of conventional buses on select weekday morning trips
• January 2023 - PM eastbound conventional trip revised to start from Carvolth Exchange instead of from Trattle & 88. Introduction of an additional PM conventional trip towards Walnut Grove running from Langley Centre
• March 13, 2023 - Service in both directions on all trips daily revised to route via the 216 Street overpass using Telegraph Trail and University Drive due to the closure and reconstruction of the Glover Road overpass until mid-2024
• March 2023 - Operations of First Transit Canada acquired by Transdev
• May 24, 2024 - Completion of Glover Road overpass construction. Service in both directions returns to the original routing
