This is a north-south route connecting White Pine Beach inside Belcarra Regional Park and Coquitlam Central Station. Service runs seasonally from late April to early September every 35 minutes. Weekend/holiday service runs from late April to early September and weekday service from mid-June to early September. Trips run from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. From June to September, extended service runs on weekends/holidays from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Northbound trips depart Coquitlam Central Station heading west on bus access road, north on Mariner Way becoming Johnson Street, west on Guildford Way, west on Ungless Way, west on Ioco Road, north on 1st Avenue becoming Bedwell Bay Road, and north on White Pine Beach access road to White Pine Beach.
Southbound trips depart White Pine Beach heading south on White Pine Beach access road, east on Bedwell Bay Road, south on 1st Avenue, east on Ioco Road, east on Ungless Way, east on Guildford Way, south on Johnson Street becoming Mariner Way, and east on bus access road to Coquitlam Central Station.
June 1989 - Bus service to White Pine Beach is introduced as the 148 Belcarra/New Westminster Station is extended to the beach as a trial seasonal service[1]
September 2003 - Service revised to operate as a seasonal branch of the C25 Port Moody Station/Ioco, running as C25 White Pine Beach/Coquitlam Station, starting from Coquitlam Station instead of Lougheed Station with service increased daily to run every hour instead of four weekday trips and six weekend/holiday trips
April 2006 - Seasonal White Pine Beach service renumbered to C20 White Pine Beach/Coquitlam Station
May 2006 - Service renumbered to C31
April 2007 - Service introduced and renumbered from C31; conventional bus service to White Pine Beach re-introduced[2]
March 2020 - Service temporarily cancelled until further notice due to COVID-19
May 2020 - Service restored for regular seasonal operations
June 2020 - Service revised to run on weekends and holidays only until Labour Day inclusive
July 2020 - Weekday service restored
April 2021 - Weekend/holiday service increased from every hour to every 30 minutes
June 2021 - Weekday service increased from every hour to every 30 minutes and weekend/holiday service revised to start from 8 a.m. instead of 10 a.m.
April 2025 - Service reduced from every 30 minutes to every 35 minutes
