VCC–Clark is a SkyTrain station in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Station Details

Located at Keith Drive and Great Northern Way, VCC–Clark derives its name from the nearby Vancouver Community College and Clark Drive. Originally planned to be an underground station, the station was to serve the emerging tech area of False Creek Flats but the opening was delayed due to construction and land disputes. The station was completed in 2005 with testing and commissioning delaying opening until the new year in 2006. Initially, VCC–Clark was to be a stepping stone for a western extension of the Millennium Line along Broadway, but the plans were eventually cancelled as the extension was considered a low priority at the time.

Currently, work is underway to extend the Millennium Line from VCC–Clark to Arbutus along Broadway, planned to be complete in 2025.

Extra Millennium Line trains are often parked west of VCC–Clark during off-peak hours and enter service during peak hours. SkyTrain staff training also occurs during off-peak hours at Platform 1, resulting in a closure of half of the station and trains terminating at Platform 2 instead.

As part of a partnership between TransLink and the BC SPCA, an automatic bird feeder was installed on February 7, 2019, as part of a pilot project underneath Platform 1 that dispenses contraceptives to humanely reduce the pigeon population.

The station was designed as part of a joint consortium between Walter Francl Architects and Stantec Architecture.[1][2] The station design was developed through a series of workshops and community meetings.

On-demand bike lockers as part of TransLink's On-Demand Bike Parking Pilot were installed in July 2021.

Bus Routes

Bus services are located at the adjacent bus loop. The 84 UBC was introduced to coincide with the station opening to serve as a relief for the 99 B-Line and replaced the 99 Special, a non-stop version of the 99.
