145 SFU/Production Station is a bus route operated by Coast Mountain Bus Company in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Route Details
This is a north-south route running in Burnaby connecting Simon Fraser University's Burnaby campus and Production Way–University Station. It is one of two bus routes providing a direct connection between the campus and the SkyTrain network. Service runs daily with added trips that run when SFU is in session. It is a Frequent Transit Network (FTN) route with service 15 minutes or better, 15 hours or more of the day, seven days a week.
Northbound trips depart from Production Way–University Station heading north on Production Way becoming Broadway, north on Gaglardi Way, east on University Drive East and south on East Campus Road to SFU Exchange.
Southbound trips depart from Simon Fraser University heading east on University High Street, south on Tower Road, west on South Campus Road, north on Gaglardi Way, west on University Drive West becoming Gaglardi Way, and west on Lougheed Highway to Production Way–University Station.

History
- October 1984 - Service rebranded from 145 Burnaby Mountain to 145 Lougheed Mall/SFU[1]
- September 1989 - Service extended to Scott Road Park–Ride during peak hours[2][3]
- October 1990 - Accessible service introduced[4]
- September 1998 - Operations transferred to Port Coquitlam Transit Centre from Burnaby Transit Centre
- September 1999 - Operations transferred back to Burnaby Transit Centre and operated with New Flyer D60LF (8022–8047)
- November 1999 - Route became equipped with bike racks[5]
- January 2001 - PM peak hour service to Scott Road Station discontinued and revised to terminate at New Westminster Station[6]
- October 2001 - Service between Lougheed Mall and New Westminster Station discontinued due to funding shortfall, low ridership and service duplication[7][8]
- September 2002 - Shortened to Production Way Station with the terminus located at Lougheed Highway & Production Way; all-door boarding introduced at SFU and Production Station on a trial basis[9]
- December 2002 - AM peak hour service increased from every 7–8 minutes to every 6 minutes by changing three overload trips added in mid-September 2002 to five permanent additional trips to address overcrowding
- December 2003 - Introduction of additional morning weekday trips following an increase in ridership with the introduction of the U-Pass at SFU
- September 2005 - Weekday midday service increased from every 10 minutes to every 7–8 minutes
- September 2008 - Production Way bus loop reopened after construction on the property was completed[10]
- September 2009 - Double-heading during the morning rush to meet increased demand with the beginning of fall classes[11]
- January 2017 - Select peak hour trippers transferred to Port Coquitlam Transit Centre after the opening of Evergreen Extension
- September 2017 - Weekday operations return to Port Coquitlam Transit Centre
- September 2018 - All-door boarding introduced at SFU Transportation Centre for Production Way-bound trips[12]
- September 2019 - All-door boarding expanded to all stops[13]
- September 2020 - COVID-19 service adjustment: Peak hour service reduced from every 6–9 minutes to every 15 minutes; early weekday morning service reduced from every 6 minutes to 15 minutes; evening weekday service reduced from every 12–15 minutes to every 20 minutes. Saturday service reduced from every 15 minutes to every 20 and Sunday/holiday service from 15–20 minutes to every 30 minutes
- January 2021 - COVID-19 service adjustment: Peak hour service increased from every 15 minutes to every 10–12 minutes. Weekend/holiday operations moved from Burnaby Transit Centre to Port Coquitlam Transit Centre and revised to run with 40-foot buses
- September 2021 - COVID-19 service adjustment: Peak hour service increased from every 10–12 minutes to every 6–8 minutes. Weekday off-peak service increased from every 10–20 minutes to every 10–15 minutes. Saturday service increased from every 20 minutes to every 15 minutes and from every 30 minutes to every 20 minutes on Sundays/holidays.
- April 29, 2023 - Weekend/holiday trips revised to run with articulated buses
- April 2024 - Operations transferred from Port Coquitlam Transit Centre to Burnaby Transit Centre
- January 2025 - Service proposed to be discontinued following the completion of the Burnaby Mountain Gondola[14]
