This is a circular route running in the Ladner area of Delta. Service runs during the afternoon peak hours only every 30 minutes. Together with the 608 Ladner Ring, the 606 provides an afternoon clockwise service and the 608 a counterclockwise morning service. During other times, service is run by the 616 Ladner South/Ladner Exchange and 618 Ladner North/Ladner Exchange.
Trips begin as a 601 Ladner Exchange from Bridgeport Station and become a 606 Ladner Ring at Ladner Exchange and depart Ladner Exchange heading south on Harvest Drive becoming 44 Avenue, north on Arthur Drive, west on 45 Avenue, north on 46A Street, east on River Road West where it becoming 47A Avenue and Ladner Trunk Road, north on Central Avenue, west on Linden Drive, north on Westminster Avenue, west on Ferry Road, east on Commodore Drive, south on Admiral Boulevard becoming Westminster Avenue, east on Crescent Drive, south on 57 Street, east on Ladner Trunk Road, south on Harvest Drive, east on Clarence Taylor Crescent becoming Mountain View Boulevard, and north on Harvest Drive to Ladner Exchange.
On weekday afternoons when school is in session, a school special trip starts from Ladner Exchange – running two hours before the start of regular 606 operations – and does the regular circular routing.
March 1985 - Service introduced as part of a renumbering of the 608 Ladner Ring to indicate the direction of travel[1]
May 1985 - Routing reverted back to pre-608 Ladner Ring routing extension and route numbering split, using 46A Street[2]
March 1990 - Service proposed to be extended to route via 57th Street, 52nd Avenue, Crescent Drive, Westminster Avenue, Linden Drive and Central Avenue[3]
December 1992 - Routing revised to service Marina Garden Estates in North Ladner; service on Central Avenue and 52nd Avenue between Linden Drive and Crescent Drive discontinued[4]
July 1995 - PM peak trips leaving downtown revised to operate as 601 Ladner Exchange before continuing as 606 Ladner Ring at Ladner Exchange to alleviate overcrowding on the 601[5]
September 2000 - Routing revised to provide direct service to civic facilities along Clarence Taylor Way before terminating at Ladner Exchange[6]
May 2017 - Service proposed to service only South Ladner and extend north from Ladner Exchange to Bridgeport Station and run during both AM and PM peak periods[7]
September 2021 - Afternoon school special trip revised to run the 606 Ladner Ring routing only and no longer provided through-service to East Ladner following the discontinuation of the 617 East Ladner/Ladner Exchange
