281 Eaglecliff/Snug Cove is a Community Shuttle route contracted to Transdev from Coast Mountain Bus Company in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Route Details

This is a north-south circular route running on Bowen Island connecting Millers Landing and Snug Cove. Service runs daily every hour on weekdays and every two hours on weekends/holidays.

Northbound trips depart Snug Cove heading south on Cardena Road, west on Bowen Island Trunk Road, north on Miller Road to Miller Road & Melmore Road. By request, trips can head east on Melmore Road, north on Lenora Road, and west on Melmore Road. Then all trips go north on Miller Road to Miller Road & Scarborough Road. By request, trips can go to Miller's Landing by going east on Miller Road to Miller's Landing, then turning around and heading south on Miller's Landing becoming Miller Road. Then all trips go north on Scarborough Road becoming Eagle Cliff Road, east on Creek Road, north on Eagle Cliff Road to Eagle Cliff Road & Baker Road.

Southbound trips depart from Eagle Cliff Road & Baker Road by heading south on Eagle Cliff Road, west on Creek Road, south on Eagle Cliff Road becoming Scarborough Road, east on Miller Road to Miller's Landing, then turning around and heading south on Miller's Landing becoming Miller Road, east on Melmore Road, north on Lenora Road, west on Melmore Road, south on Miller Road, east on Bowen Island Trunk Road, and north on Cardena Road to Snug Cove.

Flag-stop procedures are in effect in both directions.

• May 1999 - Service introduced after 10 years of consultation and operated with no route number, running on weekdays only during peak hours
• April 2002 - Service numbered C26
• September 2003 - Service renumbered from C26 to C11
• June 2005 - Midday service introduced
• January 2017 - Operations transferred from Bowen Island Community Transit to First Transit
• April 2018 - Community Shuttle branding dissolved: service renumbered from C11 to 281 with no changes in routing or frequency
• September 2018 - Weekend/holiday service to Mt. Gardner discontinued and replaced by the 282 Mt Gardner/Snug Cove
• May 2–11, 2020 - Service suspended as part of cost-saving measures due to low ridership relating to the COVID-19 pandemic
• March 2023 - Operations of First Transit Canada acquired by Transdev
