169 Coquitlam Central Station/Braid Station is a Community Shuttle route operated by Coast Mountain Bus Company in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Route Details
This is an east-west route connecting Coquitlam Central Station and Braid Station in New Westminster running through the old Riverview Hospital grounds. Service runs daily every 30 minutes.
Eastbound trips depart Coquitlam Central Station heading south on Lougheed Highway, west on Holly Drive, south on Iris Crescent merging back onto Holly Drive, merging onto Cape Horn Avenue, south on Colony Farm Road, west on Lougheed Highway, west on Brunette Avenue, arriving at Braid Station via bus access road.
Westbound trips depart Braid Station heading east on bus access road, then north on Brunette Avenue, east on Lougheed Highway, north on Colony Farm Road, east on Cape Horn Avenue becoming Holly Drive, merging onto Iris Crescent, then north on Orchid Drive, north on Lougheed Highway, west on Dewdney Trunk Road, north on Mariner Way, east on Barnet Highway, south on bus access road to Coquitlam Central Station.

History
- October 1986 - Service introduced, running as a peak hour only service between the Lougheed Park–Ride and New Westminster Station to replace the Expo 86 express shuttle service 170 Park–Ride/New Westminster Station[1]
- March 1990 - Service proposed to extend to Port Coquitlam Centre via the Mary Hill Bypass, Citadel Heights and the Mayfair Industrial Park[2]
- September 1991 - Route extended from Lougheed Park & Ride to Coquitlam Centre with 15-minute peak frequency[3]
- September 1992 - Stopping procedures revised to include for pick-up and drop-off between Columbia and New Westminster stations[4]
- December 1994 - Sunday/holiday service revised not to service Lougheed Park & Ride[5]
- September 1996 - Routing revised to enter Coquitlam Station via the Johnson–Mariner overpass following its completion[6]
- November 1999 - Route became wheelchair accessible[7]
- October 2001 - Due to funding shortfalls, service after 10:00 PM discontinued on all days[8][9]
- January 2002 - Service improved with the opening of the Millennium Line and southern terminus revised to Braid Station.[10] Various service adjustments:
- Service between Braid Street and New Westminster Station discontinued
- Introduction of nighttime service via Riverview Hospital after 9 p.m. to replace the 158
- Peak hour service increased from every 12 minutes to every 10 minutes
- Sunday/holiday service increased from every hour to every 30 minutes
- Nighttime Monday–Saturday service increased from every hour to every 30 minutes
- September 2003 - Reverse peak hour service increased from every 30 minutes to every 15 minutes in both the morning and afternoon
- December 2003 - Sunday/holiday evening trips revised to bypass Riverview Hospital with the introduction of the C35 Coquitlam Station/Braid Station[11]
- September 2004 - Weekday midday service increased from every 30 minutes to every 15 minutes
- December 2008 - Route added to Frequent Transit Network (FTN)[12]
- September 2013 - Some peak hour trips routed through Riverview Hospital grounds to maintain service coverage following the elimination of route 177 Coquitlam Station/Braid Station
- December 2016 - Route renamed to 169 Coquitlam Central Station/Braid Station and removed from the Frequent Transit Network, with service reduced from every 15 minutes or better to every 30 minutes. All westbound trips rerouted via Riverview Hospital[13]
- September 2018 - Service revised to operate with Community Shuttles on weekdays and conventional buses on weekends/holidays
- April 2023 - Introduction of an additional weekend/holiday evening roundtrip coming off the 179 Coquitlam Central Station/Buntzen Lake as part of a last-minute timetable revision to keep bus schedule consistency due to the earlier closure of Buntzen Lake for the remainder of the sheet
