Metrotown Shuttle was a Community Shuttle route operated by Coast Mountain Bus Company in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Route Details
This was an east-west temporary shuttle route running between Patterson Station and Royal Oak Station via Metrotown Station in Burnaby. Service ran daily every 20 minutes from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Of the two Metrotown Shuttle routes, this one was meant for passengers travelling with strollers.
The Metrotown Shuttle was introduced to address the accessibility problems at Metrotown Station during upgrade works that saw the closure and demolition of the station's only elevator. Initially, one shuttle was to run between Patterson Station and Metrotown Station using HandyDART vehicles. However, due to concerns of long wait times and overcrowding, a second Community Shuttle service was introduced shortly before the service was to start, running between Royal Oak, Metrotown and Patterson stations.
Eastbound trips departed Patterson Station heading east on Central Boulevard, east on Imperial Street, south on Royal Oak Avenue, east on Victory Street, north on Antrim Avenue, and west on Beresford Street to Royal Oak Station.
Westbound trips departed Royal Oak Station heading west on Beresford Street, north on Royal Oak Avenue, west on Imperial Street, west on Central Boulevard, south on Willingdon Avenue, west on Beresford Street, north on Patterson Avenue, and east on Central Boulevard to Patterson Station.
Trips in both directions did not enter the bus loop at Metrotown Station and trips only serviced the three SkyTrain stations and did not service any other stops along its route.
