==History== | |||
These are the first hybrid units in the fleet and entered revenue service in late July 2009. | |||
This series is one of two orders in the fleet to have all-door kneeling, compared to other units in the fleet where there is only front-door kneeling. The other order to have all-door kneeling is the New Flyer D60LFR units. These units were one of the first orders delivered with the passenger voice-announcement and display systems by INIT pre-installed. CCTV cameras were installed in 2011. Compass Card readers were gradually installed starting in late 2012 and through 2013. | |||
As part of an advertisement campaign by TELUS to promote the launch of their public Wi-Fi service, unit 8125 was equipped with free Wi-Fi in August 2014. Along with 9258 and 9266, these buses became the first in the system to have Wi-Fi. The service was discontinued in January 2015 after the end of the advertisement campaign. Wi-Fi returned to this series with an advertising campaign by Metropolis at Metrotown between August 2016 and January 2017 on units 8118 and 8144. | |||
After an initial trial on the 9726–9791 series Novas, hard barriers were installed replacing the "shower curtain" installed on all non-barrier buses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Installation work on this series began in November 2023. | |||

Coast Mountain Bus Company 8118–8156 are 39 2008 model New Flyer Industries DE60LFR units built in 2009.
Unit(s) | Engine | Hybrid System | Seating | Destination Sign |
---|---|---|---|---|
8118–8156 | Cummins ISL EPA 2007 330 hp | Allison EP50 System | 48 – 4ONE Aries | Luminator Horizon |
History
