Coast Mountain Bus Company 21001–21025

Coast Mountain Bus Company 21001–21025 are a set of 25 New Flyer Industries XDE60 units built in 2021. They are the first articulated units ordered in TransLink's new standard livery with a blue roofline and the first non-RapidBus articulated units in the fleet fitted with the BAE HybriDrive system.

The order of 19 units in 2020 and 30 in 2021 was first mentioned in May 2019 for service expansion along existing routes. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the order for 19 units in 2020 was deferred to 2021 and was revised for an order of a total of 55 units due to arrive in August 2021. This was later revised to 25 units. Production and delivery of this order were further delayed due to a global shipping and logistics shortage, among other challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Compared to the other XDE60s, this batch has more seat padding and has an additional curbside destination sign, similar to what is found on RapidBus units. However, unlike most XDE60s procured, these have an enlarged stop request button similar to the style used on the 2012 units. They are also the first articulated units to be delivered with TSI's Internet Protocol Slim Line Wedge CCTV cameras pre-installed. This batch is the first to use the new CCTV installation layout for articulated units where the interior rear-facing camera in the rear section is moved closer to the rear, as opposed to being installed closer to the articulation joint. These are also the first conventional units to be delivered with a three-point driver's seatbelt, as opposed to the two-point lap seatbelts used in all previous conventional orders.

Most of these will be used to increase capacity on the 84 UBC/VCC–Clark Station. They were initially scheduled to be introduced gradually starting January 3, 2022. However, entry was deferred initially to mid-February 2022 due to construction delays related to lengthening select bus stops along the route. Specifically stops along W. 4th Avenue east of Burrard Street, along W. 6th Avenue, W. 2nd Avenue and Great Northern Way. Work was delayed due to inclement weather from December to February. Entry was deferred again to March 2022 due to shipping delays as some mechanical components required replacement before they could enter service and the components were being shipped from the United States. With the exception of one unit which started service on a SkyTrain Bus Bridge shuttle, all units will have entered service on route 84 UBC/VCC–Clark Station.

In September 2022, select units were fitted with loose lug nut indicators as part of a trial.
