Route Details

This route mainly provides service on Danforth Avenue and Bloor Street between Warden Avenue and The West Mall, Danforth Road between Danforth Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East, and to Toronto Pearson International Airport via Highway 427. Eastern terminals include Warden Avenue for 300A and Kennedy Station for 300B. Western terminals include Pearson Airport for 300A and The West Mall for 300B.

History

February 27, 1966 - With the opening of the Bloor-Danforth Subway, service begins on the 10 Bloor-Danforth whenever the Bloor and Danforth streetcars did not operate during overnight hours. Buses operated between Jane and Lutrell loops. Operated from Lansdowne Division.

May 11, 1968 - Route revised to operate westward at the new Jane Station bus terminal and eastward at the new Main Street Station bus terminal.

February 9, 1987 - In conjunction with the launch of the Blue Night Network, service is rebranded into the 300 Bloor-Danforth. This route replaces the 49A Bloor West owl service west of Jane Station and the 93 Danforth East east of Main Street Station. Buses operate from Mill Road looping via west on Bloor, north and east on Markland and south on Mill Road via Bloor Street, Kipling Avenue, Dundas Street, Bloor Street and Danforth Avenue to Danforth Road looping via Danforth Road, Warden and Danforth Avenue back to route. Branch 300A provides service between Warden and Jane Station. Operated from Danforth, Lansdowne, and Queensway Divisions.

April 1991 - Looping revised at the western terminus to operate via Bloor, West Mall, Burnhamthorpe and East Mall back to Bloor.

February 18, 1996 - Lansdowne Division ceases operations leaving Danforth and Queensway Divisions to operate this route.

March 31, 2002 - With the closing of Danforth garage, buses are now shared with Birchmount and the newly-opened Eglinton (Comstock) Divisions.

February 16, 2003 - Route is extended west to Toronto Pearson International Airport on the new 300A branch to provide an overnight connection between the airport and the Bloor-Danforth corridor. Every second bus operating west from Warden Avenue will terminate at the airport.

August 1, 2004 - Service to the new Pearson Airport Terminal 1 begins.

February 2, 2007 - Service to Pearson Airport Terminal 2 is discontinued.

November 23, 2008 - Newly-opened Mount Dennis garage takes over some runs.

June 22, 2014 - Due to a system-wide reorganization of route branch designations, westbound branch 300 to The West Mall is redesignated 300B.

October 11, 2015 - Branch 300B is extended east to Kennedy Station via Danforth Road replacing a portion of route 302 Danforth Rd-McCowan. Branch 300A will operate between Warden and Pearson Airport, and branch 300B will operate between Kennedy Station and The West Mall.

March 28, 2021 - Excluding Lakeshore, all runs on this route are now operated by eight of nine bus divisions (to Arrow Rd., Birchmount, Eglinton, Malvern, McNicoll, Mount Dennis, Queensway, and Wilson)

September 5, 2021 - All runs on this route are no longer operated by eight of the nine bus divisions due to Arrow Rd. Division no longer operating route 45 Kipling as well as route 300 Bloor-Danforth interlined runs.
February 16, 2025 - Route is now scheduled to use articulated buses on some runs daily. At this time, Arrow Rd. Division also begins operating some runs on the route again meaning the route is now operated by all eight of the conventional bus divisions.

16 McCowan on Danforth Road between St Clair Avenue East and Brimley Road;
113 Danforth on Danforth Road between Danforth Avenue and Kennedy Road;
149 Etobicoke-Bloor on Bloor Street West between High Park Avenue and Kipling Avenue;
49 Bloor West on Bloor Street West between The West Mall and Aukland Road;
900 Airport Express along Highway 427 and to Pearson Airport.
