History

- August 31, 2003 - Afternoon peak-period service on branch 139C to McCowan is eliminated. All afternoon rush hour service will operate on the 139E branch to Neilson and Finch.
- September 7, 2004 - With the elimination of morning peak-period service on branch 139C to McCowan, all service on this route will operate on the 139E (Don Mills Station - Neilson and Finch) branch.
- January 3, 2006 - New Monday-Friday midday and early evening trial service is introduced on the 139C branch between Don Mills Station and Middlefield Road/Scottfield Drive.
- February 15, 2008 - Route is renamed 139 Finch-Don Mills to distinguish itself from 39 Finch East with its connection to Don Mills Station.
- June 23, 2008 - Due to low ridership and unacceptable financial performance, the trial service on branch 139C to Middlefield Road is eliminated.[1]
- October 12, 2010 - Westbound service to Don Mills Station will now operate via Finch Avenue East and Don Mills Road instead of along Highway 404.
