Routing details

The current routing of route 29.

This route services Dufferin Street south of Wilson Avenue. Northern terminals include Wilson Station for 29A, 29C, and 29D. Southern terminals include Dufferin Station for 29D, Exhibition (Dufferin Gates) for 29A, and Exhibition (Princes' Gates) for 29C. Branch 29C only operates on weekends when the Exhibition Grounds are open to traffic.

History

  • June 19, 2005 - This route is made part of a 1-year bike rack pilot project.
  • November 18, 2010 - The underpass at Dufferin Street and Queen Street is opened and buses now travel directly on Dufferin. Stops on Gladstone Avenue are no longer served.
  • March 12, 2014 - Articulated bus service begins on this route.
  • March 30, 2014 - Branches renamed to reduce confusion for customers.
  • June 22, 2014 - Branch 29 to Dufferin Gate changed to 29A, 29A to Tycos Drive changed to 29B, and 29D Princes' Gates changed to 29C, due to a system-wide reorganization of route branch designations.
  • October 07, 2018 - Operation of this route is transferred to Mount Dennis division. Branches 29B and 29D are eliminated.
