The station consists of a single platform between the two most northern tracks. The sole exit is at the east end of the platform, where stairs descend to a passageway under the tracks connecting Kipling Subway Station to the TTC's southern parking lot. Tickets are available for purchase from the station attendant during both AM and PM rush hours.
GO Train service to Kipling began on October 27, 1981 with the start of service on the Milton Line. The station has remained relatively unchanged since its opening. Kipling's main purpose is to facilitate transfers between the Milton GO line and the subway, so passengers with destinations in West Toronto (or not close to Downtown's Union Station) are not required to do significant amounts of backtracking.
One unique characteristic of Kipling is that access to the station is only possible from TTC property (the only access stairs lead into the TTC-owned walkway under the tracks). Because of this unique arrangement, GO Trains must skip the station when the TTC is on strike, as Kipling Subway Station is closed.
The station is connected to Kipling Subway Station, and connections to the TTC are made there. Connections to MiWay buses are made either on Dundas St. or Aukland Rd.
