These buses are an extension of the [[Mississauga Transit 1301-1314|2013 contract]], and as such have the same specifications. 6 buses were originally scheduled to be purchased as expansion units for the opening of the Mississauga Transitway, however a seventh bus was added to replace [[Mississauga Transit 0301-0344#0305|0305]], which suffered a major fire. The total order price was $3,497,970, with an average unit cost of $499,475. The difference from the 2013 order is the forced air duct heating system that was selected instead of the heaters. Also city of Mississauga logo is removed from the vehicle.
On April 16, 2014, Mississauga City Council approved the purchase of 7 40' BRT low floor diesel buses from [[New Flyer Industries|New Flyer]] for a total cost of $3,952,706.10. Given that the order size was small and the fact that previous orders had been awarded to [[New Flyer Industries]], it was decided to sole-source the order.
 
Delivery began in October 2014, and the buses began entering service at the beginning of December 2014. Six of the buses were used for service expansion, while one bus was used as a replacement for [[Mississauga Transit 0301-0344|0305]] after a fire.
 
The interior features 38 [[4ONE Aries]] passenger seats with Holdsworth Fabrics CAA321 "Cream/blue sixties" fabric. Individual reading lights and power outlets are located throughout the interior. A folding wheelchair ramp is located at the front door of the bus. Rear doors are passenger operated utilizing Vapor's CLASS sensor system. All Windows are flush mounted and of the tip-in transom design manufactured by Arow Global. Heating, ventilation, and cooling are provided by a roof-mounted Thermo King unit.
 
Beginning in 2022, all buses in the [[MiWay]] fleet  had unprotected forward facing seats blocked off or removed. These changes reduced the seating capacity from 38 to 37 seats.

MiWay 1401-1407 are New Flyer XD40 buses built in 2014.

On April 16, 2014, Mississauga City Council approved the purchase of 7 40' BRT low floor diesel buses from New Flyer for a total cost of $3,952,706.10.
