MiWay 1801-1812
MiWay 1801-1812 are Nova Bus LFS buses built and delivered in 2018.
In October 2016, a tender was issued for up to 52-40' low floor diesel buses. New Flyer and Nova Bus responded to the tender as follows:
- Nova Bus - $30,241,227.00
- New Flyer Industries - $31,199,479.16
With Nova Bus having the lowest bid, they were awarded the contract for 49 buses in December 2016. 37 buses MiWay (1730-1766) were delivered in 2017 and 12 buses (1801-1812) were delivered in 2018.
Delivery began in September 2018, and the buses began entering service on October 12, 2018.
The interior features 30 passenger seats with Holdsworth Fabrics grey-base Wiggles & Rings moquette. 25 seats are 4ONE Gemini, while 5 seats are moulded American Seating InSight seats. Unlike 1730-1766, these buses have single seating on the left side in the low floor section. A folding wheelchair ramp is located at the front door of the bus. Rear doors are passenger operated using a wave sensor system. All windows are traditionally glazed and of the tip-in transom design. Heating, ventilation, and cooling are provided by a roof-mounted Mobile Climate Control unit.
Beginning in 2022, all buses in the MiWay fleet had unprotected forward facing seats blocked off or removed. These changes reduced the seating capacity from 30 to 29 seats.
