September 5, 2005 - Route renamed 16 'Malton Loop' from 16 'Malton East'. Route operates counterclockwise before 12:00pm and clockwise after 12:00pm, Monday-Saturday.
October 10, 2005 - Route designated as accessible, with low floor buses used at all times.
May 3, 2010 - The counterclockwise service is renamed 16 'Malton'. The clockwise service receives its own designation (route 16A) and operates during weekday peak periods and Saturday after 12:00pm.
May 16, 2011 - Route 16A (clockwise) begins operating all day on weekdays along with route 16 (counterclockwise) service. Saturday service remains unchanged, with route 16 operating before 12:00pm and route 16A operating after 12pm.
