Hakimi Lebovic is a future rapid transit stop owned and operated by the TTC. It is located on the east and west side of the intersection of Hakimi Avenue and Lebovic Avenue with Eglinton Avenue East in the Golden Mile neighbourhood in the former City of Scarborough. The light rail surface stop has the tracks running between platforms on either side.
History
The Eglinton Crosstown LRT was part of the Transit City Light Rail Plan introduced by former mayor David Miller and former TTC chair Adam Giambrone in 2007. The first phase of the line would run from Kennedy Station in the east to Weston Road in the west.
Crosslinx Transit Solutions, a consortium comprised of EllisDon, SNC-Lavalin, Aecon and ACS - Dragados, was selected to design, build, and maintain the Eglinton Crosstown. Construction of the surface section of the line was underway by the start of 2019. Construction of the stop at Birchmount began in 2020, and shelter installation took place in June and July 2020.
