MiWay 1051-1072
MiWay 1051-1072 are New Flyer D60LFR buses built in 2010.
In October 2009, a tender was issued for the supply of 22 60' BRT diesel buses. New Flyer and Nova Bus responded to the tender as follows:
With New Flyer having the lowest bid, they were awarded the contract in November 2009. Delivery began in July 2010, and the buses began entering service on October 4, 2010.
The buses feature 'Bus Rapid Transit' (BRT) exterior styling, which consists of a roof fairing with an enclosure running to the rear. This style of roof arrangement first debuted on TheBus's 2010 DE60LFR order.
The interior features 57 4ONE Aries passenger seats with Holdsworth Fabrics CAA321 "Cream/blue sixties" fabric. Individual reading lights and power outlets are located throughout the interior. A folding wheelchair ramp is located at the front door of the bus. Rear doors are passenger operated utilizing Vapor's vTouch system. All Windows are flush mounted and of the tip-in transom design manufactured by Arow Global. Heating, ventilation, and cooling are provided by two roof-mounted Thermo King units.
Beginning in February 2021, some units from this series were repainted into the 'MiLocal' paint scheme. 1069-1071 are the units that have been repainted so far.
