Calgary Transit route 157 West Stoney Industrial is a route providing service to the Stoney Industrial Park, connecting passengers to North Pointe Terminal and Saddletowne LRT Station.
History
March 18, 2019 - Route introduced as Route 157 Stoney Industrial / Saddletowne, providing a connection between the Stoney Industrial park and the Saddletowne Station. This route was created primarily to allow bus operators to travel to Calgary Transit's Stoney Transit facility via transit. Trips start at Saddletowne Station, and continue to travel west on 80 Avenue NE, north on Metis Trail NE, west on 104 Avenue NE, north on 36 Street NE, west on Country Hills Blvd NE, north on 14 Street NE, east on Stoney Blvd NE, south on 18 Street NE, west on 120 Avenue NE, south on 14 Street SE, east on Country Hills Blvd NE, south on 36 Street SE, east on 104 Avenue NE, south on Metis Trail NE and east on 80 Avenue NE to Saddletowne Station.
December 18, 2023 - Route 157 was merged with Route 161, and was renamed to Route 157 West Stoney Industrial. Trips would operate from Saddletowne Station to North Pointe Terminal. Route 157 would operate the original routing from Saddletowne Station. To North Pointe Terminal, trips would travel south on 15 Street / 14 Street NE, west on 110 Avenue NE, north on 11 Street NE, west on Country Hills Blvd NE and northwest on Country Village Way NE to North Pointe Terminal. Towards Stoney Industrial, trips would travel along the reverse routing.
Service History
March 18, 2019 - Route operates with community shuttle buses on weekdays on a 30 minute frequency. No service on weekends.
December 18, 2023 - Weekend service has been expanded to a 40-minute frequency, facilitating convenient access to the Stoney Transit Facility for operators after its weekend opening. Additionally, weekday service frequency has been enhanced to every 27 minutes.
September 2, 2024 - The frequency of weekday service has been adjusted to every 22 minutes, while the frequency of weekend service has been revised to every 28 minutes.
