Calgary Transit route 156 is a feeder bus route designed to serve the southwest communities of Aspen Woods and Springbank Hill, while connecting passengers to 69 Street LRT Station.
Current Routing
Trips start at 69 Street Station, and travel west on 17 Avenue SW, north/northeast/east on Aspen Stone Blvd SW, north on 85 Street SW, west on 14 Avenue SW, south on 93 Street SW, southeast on Aspen Hills Drive SW, south on Aspen Stone Blvd SW, west on 17 Avenue SW, southeast on Cortina Drive SW, northeast on St. Moritz Drive SW, east on Val Gardena Blvd SW, north on 85 Street SW and east on 17 Avenue SW back to 69 Street Station.
History
June 25, 2018 - Route introduced, replacing Route 456 Aspen Woods with some minor changes in routing.
Service History
June 25, 2018 - Route operated every 15 minutes during peak hours, and 30 minutes off peak and weekends. Conventional buses were used weekdays from the start of service until the evening.
September 2, 2019 - Weekend frequency reduced to every 45 minutes. Mid day trips revised to operate with community shuttle buses.
April 6, 2020 - All day service is now at a 30 minute frequency. Community shuttle buses were used all day.
August 31, 2020 - Conventional buses reintroduced to peak hour trips.
December 21, 2020 - Conventional buses reintroduced to midday trips.
