Calgary Transit 2216-2232 are Siemens SD160 light rail cars built in 2003-2004. They are known as Series 6 LRVs.
History
All cars were delivered in the 3-stripe livery. Between 2010-2014 all cars received the new red livery. Some cars also started receiving body work in 2009; these cars receive new streamlined roof fairings, with the livery being painted (instead of decals).
Other upgrades/modifications since entering service include air conditioning, vinyl seating, interior LED lighting, and interior LED signage.
Refurbishment
Starting in 2016, the SD160 fleet started being sent to Siemens for refurbishment. Upgrades include infotainment signs inside, new exterior signage, new seats (similar to that used in the series 9 LRVs), and software upgrades.
