Calgary Transit route 131 is an express bus route designed to serve the southeast communities of Douglasdale, McKenzie Lake and Cranston, connecting passengers to downtown Calgary.
Current Routing
Trips in the morning towards downtown would start southbound on Cranston Blvd at Cranleigh Drive SE and go south on Cranston Blvd SE, do a clockwise loop around Cranston Drive SE, north on Cranston Blvd SE, northeast on McKenzie Lake Blvd SE, north on Mt. McKenzie Drive SE and north/west on Douglasdale Blvd SE, following 24 Street SE, Ogden Road SE, 11 Street SE and 9 Avenue SE towards downtown. Trips in the afternoon towards the community come from downtown via 9 Avenue SE, 11 Street SE, Ogden Road SE and 24 St and go east/south on Douglasdale Blvd SE, south on Mt. McKenzie Drive SE, southeast on McKenzie Lake Blvd SE, south on Cranston Blvd SE and then a clockwise loop around Cranston Drive SE, terminating northbound on Cranston Drive at Cranleigh Gate SE.
History
August 30, 2021 - Route introduced. Route 131 was created as a way to consolidate routes 102 Douglasdale Express, 103 McKenzie Express, 110 Douglas Glen Express and 133 Cranston Express into a single express route. In the Douglasdale and McKenzie Lake communities, Route 131 serves the main roads in the community such as Douglasdale Blvd, Mt. McKenzie Drive, and McKenzie Lake Blvd instead of doing the loop around the neighbourhood.
