Baseline

Baseline Station is located near the intersection of Baseline & Woodroffe. Sir Guy Carleton HS, Algonquin College, College Square big-box mall and Centrepointe Theatre are all close to the station.
It is also a major transfer point for the southwest area, making it one of the busier stations.
A Park & Ride lot (276 spaces) is located to the south of the station. Permits are required before 11am, in order to deter college students from parking for free.
A pedestrian overpass over Woodroffe Ave. connects the station with Algonquin College.
History
1983
- Among the first stretch of the Transitway that was completed in 1983. The station originally offered proper infrastructure including heating shelters, and it offered a Quickie convenience store.
October 23rd, 2009
- Baseline station was relocated less than 100m west to allow Algonquin College to build a new building on the lands of old Baseline. The land was owned by Algonquin College, permitting the college to evict OC Transpo from the property. A new underground station was planned upon the completion of the new building, and the temporary station will be closed. (The temporary station never closed down and is instead going to be kept until the completion of Line 1 by 2023) There was heavy criticism from the general public about the layout of the temporary Baseline Station, especially the scattered nature of each stop, the lack of a convenience store, the next bus screen, and the size of the shelters. For example, transferring from the 118 to a southbound 95 would require one to walk almost 200m.
December 17th, 2017
- Baseline station received well needed updates. Their Shelters were retrofitted with heaters, doors, and next bus screens, in addition to building a pedestrian passage in the middle of Baseline station for easier cross platform access.
