The current routing of route 262

Route 262 was a peak period express route that travels from Stittsville to Downtown in the AM peak and the reverse in the PM peak. Service operated Monday to Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 (AM peak) and 3:00 to 6:00 (PM peak).

Mackenzie King direction

  • 262 Mackenzie King (AM peak) - No boarding between Queensway and Westboro Station, after which regular fare would be charged. 1st and 2nd-morning trips do not serve Bayshore station.

Stittsville Main direction

  • 262 Stittsville (PM peak) -

History

September 1st, 2002

  • New Rural Express that provides direct rush hour service from Stittsville to downtown via Carp Road and Highway 417.

September 3rd, 2006

  • Route is revised to start/end Fernbank and Liard. Service between Beverly and Harry Douglas is replaced by revised route 261.

September 6th, 2009

  • Route is rerouted to serve the new Pinecrest and Bayshore Stations.
  • Route no longer allows passengers to request a stop at Greenbank / Queensway.

March 1st, 2010

  • Route was changed from a rural express route to an express route.

April 17th, 2011

  • No boarding between Queensway and Westboro Station is allowed.

June 28th, 2015

  • Morning trips end at Hurdman
  • Afternoon trips continue to start at Campus Station

December 20th, 2015

  • Does not serve Hurdman or Lees Stations
  • Morning trips end at Mackenzie King Station
  • Afternoon trips continue to start at Campus Station

April 24th, 2016

  • Route starts at Mackenzie King Station (instead of Campus Station).

December 25th, 2016

  • Route is rebranded as Connexion route 262.
