Ottawa-Carleton Regional Transit Commission Blair Station
Blair
|
Blair Station is located just west of the Blair Rd. interchange of the Ottawa Road 174 (Former King's Highway 17, also formerly part of the Trans-Canada). The Gloucester Centre Mall, Silver City Theatres and Big Box mall (Chapters) are located nearby.
A long pedestrian bridge that runs across the 174 connects the station with the small Telesat park & ride and the Pineview community.
Confederation Line
This will be the eastern terminus station of the "Confederation Line" LRT project. The station will be converted into a large bus-to-LRT transfer station as part of the project. Construction began in Summer 2015 and is scheduled to be completed by Winter 2016.
New platforms and a layup area was created to the northeast of the station (formerly part of the Gloucester Centre's parking lot) to serve as a temporary station during consruction. The long pedestrian bridge that runs across the 174 has remained open to make it easier for the residents that are south of the 174 to access the station.
