The routing of route 94

Route 94 was a regular route that served Orléans South along Innes then headed west through Blackburn Hamlet then rejoins Innes after the bypass. It then turned right on Blair and headed north toward Blair Station where it joins the Transitway and continued to head west on the Transitway towards Barrhaven. Trips that travelled via Leikin do not serve Woodroffe between Chapman Mills and Longfields southbound in the AM and northbound in the PM.

History

September 3rd, 2006

  • Will provide a new rapid transit connection to downtown along the southern corridor of the eastern community, serving Orléans and Blackburn Hamlet.
  • Route will operate during weekday peak periods and make limited stops along Innes and Blair Road in order to speed up service.
  • Buses will start at Trim Road and travel via Innes, Blair Road, and the Transitway to downtown and Tunney’s Pasture. In the afternoon, buses will return along the opposite routing.
  • Route is a regular fare route.

September 2nd, 2007

  • Will be expanded to operate every 30 minutes during the mid-day in both directions to improve service along the Innes corridor and to the communities of Orléans south and Blackburn Hamlet.
  • Most trips will be extended to Millennium Park just south of Innes at Trim, near Gisèle Lalonde Secondary School.
  • The frequency during peak periods will also be increased to meet demand and reduce overcrowding.

April 20th, 2008

  • An eastbound trip will be added that departs Tunney’s Pasture at 8:15 AM Service will be doubled from 30 minutes to every 15 minutes, between 9 AM and 3 PM, in both directions.
  • In the afternoon rush hour, westbound service will also be increased to every 15 minutes

June 22nd, 2008

  • two new eastbound trips will be added, departing Tunney's Pasture Station around 6 AM and 7 AM.

August 31st, 2008

  • Route will be expanded to provide new service on weekends. Buses will operate every 30 minutes between 8 AM and 7 PM on Saturdays, and 9 AM and 6 PM on Sundays.
  • Service will also be extended to operate until 10 PM on weekday evenings, and the number of trips to Millennium will be increased.

November 28th, 2009

  • Trips that currently start or end at Innes and Trim will be extended to the new Millennium Park & Ride lot located on Millennium Drive east of Trim Road, just south of Innes.
  • Route becomes apart of the accessible bus network.

September 5th, 2010

  • Will have expanded hours of service, with trips added in the early morning and late evening.
  • Some early morning trips will be revised to operate between St. Laurent and Train Stations via St. Laurent Blvd., Industrial, Trainyards, Belfast and Tremblay.
  • Will have three new early morning trips added Monday to Saturday.
  • On weekdays, some of these trips will follow a new early morning routing between St. Laurent and Train Stations via St. Laurent Blvd., Industrial, Trainyards, Belfast and Tremblay. On Saturdays, the early trips will end at Blair Station where transfers can be made to Route 95, replacing portions of Routes 824 and 825.

December 28th, 2010

  • Late night trips now serve Rideau street instead of Mackenzie King.

April 17th, 2011

  • Route is extended to serve Woodroffe (today’s Nepean Woods) station.
  • Peak period trips will now serve 73 Leikin (RCMP Headquarters) replacing Route 195.
  • Route is now a “Rack-and-Roll” route.

September 4th, 2011

  • Will operate some additional late evening trips, between Orléans and Tunney’s Pasture, to match the current Route 125 hours of service.

January 8th, 2012

  • Trips travelling through downtown after 1 AM will operate along Rideau Street instead of Mackenzie King Bridge, to bring service closer to customers in the Byward Market.

April 22nd, 2012

  • Route will have a new weekday westbound trip departing Millennium Park & Ride at midnight and ending at Tunney's Pasture.
  • A new weekday eastbound trip will leave Chapman Mills around 11:51 AM.

September 2nd, 2012

  • Will have increased frequency weekday afternoons, early evenings and on weekends.
  • On Saturdays and Sundays between 9 AM and noon, buses will operate every 15 minutes instead of 30 minutes.
  • On Sundays before 9 AM, service will be increased from every 60 to 30 minutes.
  • To meet the growing demand for service, additional trips that are over and above the normal seasonal increases will be added.

April 21st, 2013

  • Buses travelling westbound will now sign "Nepean Woods" instead of "Woodroffe".

September 1st, 2013

  • Busy trips/runs now being assigned articulated and Double Decker buses.
  • Schedules adjusted to improve reliability.

July 19th, 2014

  • Will be extended to serve Riverview Station to improve connections to nearby routes in the community.

August 31st, 2014

  • Two new late evening trips to Orleans: leaving at 12:06 AM on Saturdays and 11:35 PM on Sundays.

June 28th, 2015

  • No service to Hurdman, Train or Cyrville Stations.
  • No service at Lees Station. Transfer to alternate routes at Blair, St-Laurent or Mackenzie King.
  • Early morning service trips are slightly revised to only travel on Industrial and St. Laurent; service to Belfast and Trainyards is removed.

December 20th, 2015

  • Does not serve Hurdman Station.
  • Does not serve Lees Station westbound, Eastbound trips between 7 PM and 6 AM and on weekends serve the upper level of Lees Station.
  • Early morning service trips along Belfast and Trainyards will be reinstated.

April 24th, 2016

  • The first-weekday trip westbound and the last eastbound trip were cancelled due to low ridership.
  • No longer serves Lees or Campus Stations in either direction.
  • Travels via Highway 417 and Nicholas Street between Laurier and St-Laurent Stations.

April 23rd, 2017

  • Capacity increased by using larger buses on many Saturday trips.

October 6th, 2019

  • Will be split into three routes - Route 25 travelling east of Blair and Routes 73 and 74 travelling west of Tunney's Pasture
  • Service to Leikin will be provided by Route 73
  • Will no longer travel through downtown
