Durham Region Transit 9100-9105

Durham Region Transit 9100-9105 are Nova Bus LFS Artic buses built in late 2019 and early 2020 for expansion of the DRT Pulse Bus Rapid Transit fleet.

They were purchased through the Metrolinx Transit Procurement Initiative using money granted to Durham Region Transit by the federal government's Public Transit Infrastructure Fund (PTIF) program. This was announced in a news release by Durham Region Transit on June 5th 2019.

These are the first articulated buses in Durham Region Transit's fleet. These buses are exclusively stored and maintained at the Raleigh Maintenance and Storage Facility in Oshawa.

The livery is similar to that of the 2018 Nova Bus LFS vehicles (7100-7103) but extended beyond the bellows.

These vehicles feature the same seating model found on all DRT Pulse vehicles, but feature the same upholstery of green vinyl as the 2018 Nova Buses (7100-7103. Other similarities to those vehicles include, USB Ports found under nearly all seats, and tables with a reading light in the rear quad seating areas in the rear section of the bus. As with all DRT Nova Buses since 2016, there is no rear window.

In the summer of 2019, most concrete landing pads at bus stops were extended by approximately 10 feet to accommodate the doors at the rear section of the bus.

Delivery of these vehicles started in February 2020. As this is the first order of articulated buses in DRT's fleet, all operators at Raleigh and Westney divisions required training before being allowed to operate these vehicles in revenue service. Operator training began in April 2020 and the buses entered service on September 7th 2020.
