Durham Region Transit route 116 Sheppard
The route 116 Sheppard is a Durham Region Transit (DRT) Pickering beltline bus route. It is operated by Westney Division.
Route details
The route originates from the Pickering Town Centre and the pedestrian bridge to Pickering GO Station. It travels along Kingston Road and accesses Sheppard Avenue via Fairport Road. The route serves Sheppard Avenue to Rosebank Road, where it loops via Strouds Lane and Foxwood Trail.
Evening, Sunday, and Holiday service
Service is combined with the 114 Dixie in the west end and is known as the 114D Dixie/Sheppard. The route also continues from the Pickering Town Centre to the GO Station. Evening service begins at 20:00 Monday to Friday, and at 19:00 on Saturday.
History
The route began service on September 4, 2012 as part of a city-wide route re-organization. The eastern end of the route past Rosebank Road is taken from the former routing of the 103 Amberlea.
