The October 26 Service Changes are now available for viewing.  Nothing dramatic, just some schedule tweaks.

On Monday, October 26, MiWay is adjusting schedules on several routes to improve connections across the network. Service changes include:

  1. Schedule changes on various routes

  2. More frequent evening service on weekdays on Route 42 Derry

1. Schedules changes on various routes

Starting Monday, October 26, schedules will change on the following routes:

  • 9 Rathburn-Thomas
  • 26 Burnhamthorpe
  • 42 Derry
  • 68 Terry Fox
  • 73 Kamato
  • 74 Explorer
  • 76 City Centre-Subway
  • 90 Terragar-Copenhagen Loop
  • 91 Hillcrest-Cooksville GO
  • 101 Dundas Express

2. More frequent evening service on weekdays on Route 42 Derry

Starting Monday, October 26, new trips have been added after 8:30 p.m. to improve service frequency.

Passing through Cooksville GO today it appears they've properly renumbered the platforms and have put up the MiWay stop flag signage but have yet to assign the routes to their respective bays/platforms.  Platforms 11 and 10 are the easternmost now and are still assigned to GO.  The next two (Platforms 8 & 9) have no signage and I assume will be used for layovers, one each for GO and MiWay perhaps?  The remaining five look to be for MiWay.  One platform each for the 28 CONFEDERATION (since it only runs in the peak direction, which seems a bit odd but I get the reasoning), 53 KENNEDY (whenever it eventually gets extended), 91 HILLCREST and then possibly one for each direction of a Hurontario corridor route (local or express).  Still not sure about the routing in and out of the station.  The shift of the GO platforms to the east end of the bus loop puts the washroom and green PRESTO loading machine in the middle of all of the MiWay platforms.

Until I get some shots from the GO platforms to confirm what I am seeing on the north side, it looks like there is now 16 bays in place of 14. The north side saying 8 bays with GO having 7 & 8 at the east end. All bays have display screens for both direction, with platform 8 being testing.

All the new driveway around TTC sub station is fully built to the new layout. Ground being compacted and sub base lay for the new Kiss & ride east-west area.

Not sure why there is a mesh over the walkway area.

The new station is mostly completed on the exterior and no idea on the inside. No idea what has to be done in the tunnel to connect the new station to TTC station other no elevator in place yet.

Knowing Metrolinx, they could open the terminal before year end without the elevator and forcing the accessibility riders to do a long kike with TTC parking lot to open in 2021.

Lot more up on my site.

The website doesn't say which GO Bus routes will be serving the new station.

Unknown at this time

Had a look at Cooksville today and can't figure Metrolinx bay numbering. GO has bay 10 & 11 with 9 a blank if it is 9. miWay 91 is bay 8, 28 is bay 7, assuming 53 will be bay 6 and 2 blank miWay for 5 and 4. What happen to bays 1-3??

Back in Aug and early Sept, bay 7 was at the west end.

All bus bays have screens for them, but not working like the other screens, other than the platform 2..

As a note, the old entrance to the platform from Hurontario is now open with working Presto readers.

There's been some speculation that GO would extend some of their routes currently terminating at Square One (Guelph, Kitchener) to Kipling along with a possible branch of the 21 train-bus service.

Your earlier post (which is probably pasted from GO's website) has the 28 CONFEDERATION at Platform 6 and 91 HILLCREST at Platform 7.  I had mentioned there were to unassigned bay between MiWay and GO Transit (Platforms 8 and 9) and that the plaftorms were correctly renumbered earlier this week.  MiWay has updated its notice for Cooksville GO.

Detour_CooksvilleGO_Oct7.jpg

And they've even updated the Terminal Map for Cooksville GO (which they should have used instead of the above map for the revised routing notice).  If you zoom in on the .pdf version you can see all of the platforms numbered west to east 2 through 11.  I must have miscounted or the botched numbering screwed up my count, but Platform 1 is reserved for the Train as mentioned earlier.

Meanwhile, the 2-week detour of the 5 DIXIE along Atwater and Cawthra would seem like an ideal time to gauge what extending the 14 LORNE PARK through to Dixie Mall and Sherway would be like.  Not every driver it seems is following the detour and it would seem that the construction at the railway crossing isn't bad enough to restrict the odd bus from going through.  They're just missing the stops along those sections of Atwater and Cawthra to be of any use for the local residents!

Stand to be corrected:

I just look at the shot from the walkway.

GO Platforms at Cooksville are Bay 11, 10 that are marked that way now follow by the Bay 9 if it is a bay number with bollards. Bay 8 is empty. miWay route 91 is using bay 7 follow by route 28 at bay 6. Bay 5 is most likely for route 53 with a blank sign and then bay 4, 3, 2 are for unknown routes with no signs. This is based on current setup with no bay numbers from 9 to 2.  If bay 9 is now one bay to the west that is empty, then 91 is at bay 8 and 28 at bay 7 and 53 at bay 6. Bays 5, 4 and 3 are empty. Have photos that will be posted once I get to them.

If Metrolinx is using 1 & 2 for the new platform with 1 being beside the new track 1 when and if it gets built on the north side. 2 is the current platform that will match the missing bus bays numbers 1 and 2.

Look at the map that Gil posted above you.

It's extremely clear that they've numbered the bus bays 2 to 11, with 1 being the solitary train platform.

This is verging on the GO Transit thread, but my confusion was the intial botched numbering.  I've zoomed in on the .pdf as much as I can.  Platform 3 on the map was originally signed as Platform 10 and Platform 4 was signed as Platform 11 when GO Buses began serving the bus loop.  The spare platform (#2 on the map) and the wrong order of the platforms initially led me to believe that they would be numbered 12 to 3 decreasing east along the bus loop and that they had set aside Platform 2 for an eventual GO Train platform on the south side of the tracks.  The renovated train Platform 1 has the yellow tactile strip on both sides even though there are currently no tracks on the north side of the platform.  Renderings of the station show tracks on the north side (in order to be able to provide two-way service).

Regarding your recent inquiry, there will be a full closure of QEW & Hurontario. The on/off ramps will be used as artillery lanes to bring vehicles out of the QEW.  The specifics and details are being developed and coordinated with MTO and will be announced once these are finalized.

First activities in 2021 in the area will be further south from Port Credit, and then move north towards South Service Rd.

They had better pay attention to the timing of the Dixie-QEW interchange reconfiguration as that may leave Cawthra as the only crossing of the QEW east of the Credit without any construction in Mississauga!  The Dixie portion won't go ahead until after they're done with the Etobicoke Creek overpass and West Mall ramp rehabilitation, which looks to be around the halfway point.  I don't think the staging has been announced but the new Dixie overpass would likely go up before they tear the old one down since they're parallel to each other.  Just prepare for a lot of construction-induced traffic!

There's also this happening...I'm sure its bound to cause some disruption as some articles I read mentioned redirecting traffic over the new bridge temporarily.

According to one of the Facebook posts with pictures, #2053 arrived on this week. The pic is not mine.

Based on this shot Miway actually has two HEV Artics, the second is in the top right corner

2053....?  I thought there were only 11 on order.  Are there new MiLocals currently on order?

Yes there are 11. It seems the artics are numbered from 51. So 2051 to 2061. For Locals, that giant order is for next year unless that has changed.

Missing the black section along the windows end to end. Its bothering me lol; MiWay specializes in speccing almost great liveries.

I noticed it looked different but couldn’t place exactly what was different, I didn’t realize it until you said it and now I can’t do anything but notice it
