Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation 3019-3020
Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation 3019-3020 are bio-diesel Gillig BRT (G27D102N4) buses built in late 2014 and delivered in November 2014. They are part of the same order as hybrid buses 3009-3018. Both vehicles are assigned solely to the Oakland Terminal. Unlike the previous three BRT orders, however, these two buses use clean-diesel propulsion. Also distinguishing these two vehicles from their hybrid counterparts is the completely different livery, with two white lines instead running down the sides, yet both are still painted in the base Michigan State University-inspired colors.
For several months after being delivered, 3019 and 3020 had remained idle at the Macomb and Oakland Terminals respectively due to delays in repairs by Clever Devices to technical issues involving the GPS system.[1]
