The Woodward Dream Cruise shuttle is a seasonal bus route operated by the Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation in metropolitan Detroit, Michigan, United States.

Route Details

The shuttle runs annually on the third Saturday of August as part of the Woodward Dream Cruise, running along Woodward Avenue between the Phoenix Center Hub and the State Fair Transit Center. It is the only SMART route along Woodward Avenue during it's service operation, as routes 450, 460, and Fast Woodward are detoured off of Woodward onto nearby thoroughfares due to the congestion created by the Dream Cruise. Fares are not paid to ride the shuttle.

History

The first Woodward Dream Cruise took place on August 19, 1995; and SMART began operating the shuttle at that time.

For the 2008 Woodward Dream Cruise, as a result of the onslaught of the Great Recession (more specifically rising diesel prices and declining millage rates), SMART discontinued their shuttle operations and instead encouraged visitors to ride the 450/460 detour and connect to other routes to access the event.

In 2018, SMART reinstated the shuttle, again running along the length of the Dream Cruise.
