No, it is possible that it could become a Mt. Dennis Route, time will tell

There's a new TTC 5 years plan survey that shows some revised routing for connecting to Line 5

745695582_Line5.thumb.png.e7d279a2a56afa46cf085ff35d452d55.png

The 7 Bathurst isn't being renumbered anymore.
The 19 goes to a new 19 Castlefield route. (First 19 was for Jane South, then 7 Bathurst was to be renumbered 19, now a new route)
The 18 Caledonia is proposed to return again with a split from 47. (This split first appeared in the SmartTrack proposed routing map at Stockyards GO station which doesn't seem like it's happening anymore)
The 81 Thorncliffe Park and 88 South Leaside will rerouted into Laird Station.
The rest remains the same as the last public proposal.
The 171 will be maintained to Mt Dennis garage oppose to the 71 Runnymede.

Line 6 doesn't contain much changes except the Milvan loop route is now numbered 151.

A revised community bus route network is also presented.

That proposed 58 bus service really should be expanded west along Dixon/Lawrence. As currently proposed it would have very limited effectiveness.

They have the right train of thought so far with the base structure of the route, but they need to expand it to provide a more effective service. This would provide an alternative for those who live in the northwest end of the city who have to rely on the useless 52 Lawrence West bus (one of the worst routes in the city).

What about cutting the 7 to St.Clair West and re-extend the 511 to St.Clair West or extend it to Earlscourt Loop at Lansdowne and St.Clair?

That has nothing to do with connecting to Line 5. Please search the board for an answer, that has been mention many times.

You can also write your suggestion on the survey as they are looking for feedbacks.

It's been previously discussed on the board that it was felt that offering a connection to the BD line is more useful than to the YUS, so that's why the 7 goes all the way to Bathurst.

Even if it did work though... with what cars? We don't even have enough to maintain present service levels.

New and revised services based on the image (from west to east):

The 35 Jane is getting split with new 27 Jane South bus from Mount Dennis Stn, while the 935 Jane Express bus will be rerouted to service Mount Dennis Stn.

The 32 Eglinton West bus will be cut back to Mount Dennis Stn to run west from there probably only running as the 32A and 32D branches (see the 58 Trethewey bus below).

The 34 Eglinton East bus will be realigned to run west from Mount Dennis Stn to Science Centre Stn as the Line 5 LRT surfaces east of Science Centre Stn.

The 71 Runnymede bus will be cutback to terminate at Mount Dennis Stn from its current routing.

The 89 Weston Rd and 989 Weston Rd Express buses will be rerouted to service Mount Dennis Stn.

The 161 Rogers Road and 168 Symington buses will be rerouted north on Black Creek Dr to Mount Dennis Stn.

The 171 Mt Dennis bus will be reconfigured to cover the west end of the 161 Rogers Road bus from Black Creek Dr to Jane St.

The 58 Trethewey bus will replace the 32C Eglinton West branch, and run from Keelesdale Stn to Jane.

The 19 Castlefield bus will run from Caledonia Stn to Cedarvale Stn.

The 13 Avenue Rd bus finally comes into fruition from the planned changes a few years ago.

The 51 Leslie bus will be rerouted to service Laird and Sunnybrook Park Stns and continue south along the 56 Leaside routing. I would assume that there would be a Brentcliffe branch designation as well.

The 54 Lawrence East bus is cutback to terminate at Science Centre Stn, while the 954 Lawrence East Express bus is extended to Science Centre Stn.

Lasltly, the 100 Flemingdon Park bus will be rerouted to service Science Centre Stn.

Yes, those changes I didn't mention are the same as the proposed changes back in 2016. The 989 (previously proposed as 189) didn't extend south of Eglinton.

https://www.ttc.ca/About_the_TTC/Commission_reports_and_information/Commission_meetings/2016/February_25/Reports/Changes_to_TTC_Bus_Routes_in_Eglinton_Corridor_for_Line_5_Ra.pdf#page=5

There is no mention of what happens to service on Lawrence between Leslie and Don Mills. I suppose they could revive the 51C. They would need a branch of 51 to replace the 56B in rush hour as the 56A+B runs twice as frequent as the 51. The 56B replacement branch would need to loop CCW instead of CW to avoid confusion on where to board 51 southbound buses. They should have built a bus terminal at Laird if they anticipated these changes.

Edit to this post that I hadn’t seen from the poor quality image:

The 32 Eglinton West bus will be running as a sole branch from Mount Dennis Stn to Renforth Stn.

The 170 Emmett bus will be replacing the 32D Eglinton West branch running from Mount Dennis Stn to Jane & Emmett.

Mount Dennis looks like it'll have a huge bus terminal.

Science Centre not so much and other stations on Line 5 looks like it'll just be a bus connection on the surface with a bus terminal?

Only 4 stations are getting new terminals/bus loop.

Mount Dennis with a big 15 bay terminal. Probably fare paid zone.
Keelesdale with small on street terminal with 4 bus bays. Doesn't seem like fare paid zone.
Caledonia with a bus loop similar to Old Mill.
Science Centre with a 7 bus bay terminal. Could be fare paid zone.

Cedarvale, Eglinton and Kennedy have existing terminals.

The rest will access Line 5 on street similar to the Dufferin Station transfer to 29/929 setup.

The 935 setup is going to annoy a lot of riders as it takes it's 5-8 minute detour and and out of Mount Dennis. It would almost always be faster to just get off the bus, walk across the road and take the next 35/935. I expect alot of people will do this. Since the introduction of presto, this allowd the 41/941 to board on street at Finch West and the 52/952 eastbound boarding on street at Lawrence West. Maybe they could board on street for the 89/989.

Another option not shown is extending the 162 LAWRENCE-DONWAY south on Don Mills to Science Centre Stn. It already runs along that part of Lawrence Ave and could introduce two way service on part of the current east end looping.

The 162 Lawrence-Donway also provides that service, so presumably it remains unchanged, running to Lawrence Station, and will be the only east-west service between Leslie and Don Mills on Lawrence East (and Donway).

I suppose that technically, there will be 250 metres not served, between The Donway West and Don Mills Road, but all there's no stops between there. And passengers could still change from the 162 to 54 Lawrence East (at the intersection of The Donway East and Lawrence East).

Apparently the closure of Islington station's bus bays will not have an impact on the running times of the TTC routes operating there. I can see that for the 110, which presumably will loop via Meadowvale and Green Lane, although the left turn will be tougher than at the light with the advance arrow. However 37 and 50 will presumably loop via Bloor and Aberfoyle, and I suspect that that will be a traffic nightmare.

New service summary has been released:

It says that the 189 Stockyards route will operate out of Queensway.

What's dissappointing is the 312 ST. CLAIR-JUNCTION could've moved to Queensway division despite none of the routes go into the 312. Does anyone know what daytime buses go into the 312 after, presumably the 71 or 161?

I'd prefer the 51C to run extended to Lawrence East Stn. daily to offset the loss of riders west of Don Mills Stn.

The 406 CENTRAL-EAST COMMUNITY BUS doesn't ring a bell to me. I'd prefer to have it named 406 CEDARBRAE.

Perhaps none of the routes are either extended to Kipling station. My scenario is to have the 110 and 37 interline (110C-37B and 110A-37A - 110B buses alternate with 37B) during those hours while the 937 extends south to the 110C looping with Express stops at Queensway, Evans and Judson, before going local. The 50 can be re-routed to Royal York station since there is one spare bay there between the 48 and 15-76.

No interline. Both 110 and 37 will unload/load in front of the station. The 37 will loop around in the station and the 110 via Cordova and Central Prkwy.

It's been changed again. 110s to use Aberfoyle as they've been given approval for that. Starting Oct. 21 for approx. 2 months.
