British Columbia Rapid Transit Company 1300/1400 series
SkyTrain cars 301-348 are 48 cars or 24 sets of Bombardier ART Mark II cars built in Sahagun, Mexico and Thunder Bay, Ontario. These cars run on both the Expo Line and Millennium Line, in 4 car sets on the Expo Line and 2 car sets on the Millennium Line. Cars are attached in "married couples" of two.
The 48 cars were ordered in 2006 and arrived in 2009. Following their arrival, there has been an increase in capacity on the system by approximately 30 percent. The first of the new cars entered service on July 3, 2009.[1] with 14 additional cars ordered for delivery by 2010.
These cars were delivered in the grey, blue, and yellow TransLink livery and featured new interiors. The aisle stanchions were reconfigured to offer more handholds, and a 2+1 seating arrangement offers more aisle space. New seats, American Seating's InSight model, are upholstered in the same vinyl introduced on the buses. The cars also feature CCTV cameras, LED maps, and door-closing lights.[2]
