Oakridge–41st Avenue is a SkyTrain station in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Station Details

Referred simply as Oakridge–41st, the station provides service to the nearby residential areas and Oakridge Centre. Oakridge–41st Avenue is located near the now-closed, Oakridge Transit Centre. The station is located 6 metres underground and is south of Queen Elizabeth Park.

During planning, Oakridge–41st Avenue was called 41st Avenue.[1] This was later changed in 2006 to its current name.[2]

Station Upgrades

In 2018, TransLink announced that as part of the proposed redevelopment of the nearby Oakridge Centre, there are plans to expand the station to accommodate the increase of passengers at the station shortly. Upgrades to the station included the demolition of the current stationhouse and constructing a wood and glass canopy to cover the station entrance and a redone station plaza. TransLink stated they would review and negotiate the proposed changes with the developer.[3]

In September 2024, a finalized design was announced and work began. Construction work is expected to last one year and would involve the following upgrades:

  • Two new escalators from the street level to the concourse, parallel to the existing stairs and escalator
  • A new station canopy for weather protection
  • Direct underground mall access
  • Public art installation

Funding for most of the upgrades were provided by QuadReal and Westbank, the developers of Oakridge Park. Funding for escalators came from TransLink's 2022 Capital Projects program.[4]
