Lincoln is a SkyTrain station in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Station Details

Located on Pinetree Way between Lincoln and Northern avenues, Lincoln provides access to the nearby Coquitlam Centre mall and other shops and services along Pinetree Way. The station was not part of the originally planned stations and was added into the plan in 2012 following a public-private partnership agreement between the Government of Canada, the City of Coquitlam, and Pensionfund Realty Limited. The federal government contributed $7 million to the station.

Lincoln was designed by the Perkins+Will architecture firm[1][2] and is the sister station of Burquitlam. The station has extensive use of glass and glue-laminated Douglas Fir wood planks.[3]

Public Art

There are two permanent public art pieces at Lincoln. The first is titled Branching Out, a glass mosaic inside the station by Bruce Walther and YarOn Stern of Vancouver. There is also a mosaic tile outside the station with the station name on it. There are similar mosaic tiles at each Coquitlam station along the Evergreen Extension.

The second is located underneath the station titled Pillow Station by Paul Slipper and Marry Ann Liu of Vancouver. The artwork is a collection of granite pillows with each pillow containing designs that celebrate Coquitlam's multicultural community and also represents a moment of calm and playfulness during commuting.[4]
