South Granville is a planned SkyTrain station in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Station Details

South Granville Station is one of five planned stations along the Millennium Line's Broadway Subway extension. The station will be located at the northeast corner of W. Broadway & Granville Street and will be incorporated into a commercial building that is currently under construction. This will be the first SkyTrain station on the network with no standalone stationhouse building to be built into a private building that is also being simultaneously constructed.

The design of South Granville will be subtle and incorporated into a commercial development building. Many of its design features will be incorporated pending coordination with the building's developer and will make use of glass glazing, dark copper ceiling and ceiling panels that will be oriented to create a soft canopy design that provides a seamless transition between interior and exterior.[1]

The station is expected to open in 2025.

History

Work on constructing the traffic deck along the south side of W. Broadway took place in the fall and winter of 2021 with north side work taking place in late-2021 and early 2022. Full installation of the traffic deck is expected to be complete in spring 2022. Tunnel boring machine preparation and overall underground station construction will take place starting in summer 2022.[2]

Bus Routes

It is expected that bus routes currently passing through the station's proposed location will continue to service the area once the station is complete in 2025, including the 99 B-Line for a brief time as both the Broadway Subway and 99 B-Line are expected to temporarily co-exist until bus service adjustments and changes take place.
