History
- November 27, 2006 - Service launched as a merger of routes 810 and 820 that bypasses Livonia (except for a very small portion along Grand River) due to that community opting out of SMART.

Buses that can appear on 805 Grand River Park & Ride include Gillig Low Floor 35' and Gillig Low Floor 40' buses. Gillig BRT 40' HEV, Gillig BRT 40' and New Flyer Industries D40LF buses may also be assigned.
