The New Flyer Industries DE60LFA is the BRT styled version of the DE60LF model. It was originally introduced as the DE60LF-BRT. It features New Flyer's unique BRT styling which includes a one-piece windshield, a sleeker front end, as well as the same smoother rear end with recessed taillights found on the restyled designs. The majority of the bus remains the same, but the batteries on the roof have a more streamlined enclosure.
As the DE60LFA is designed for BRT applications, some examples (most notably those for Lane Transit District and the Greater Cleveland RTA) feature doors on both sides of the bus. This allows for entry and egress at island-platform BRT stations.
In the fall of 2010, the DE60LFA and the rest of the Advanced Styled BRT line was discontinued. New Flyer began marketing their Xcelsior line for BRT applications.
