The New Flyer Industries D40LFA is the BRT styled version of the D40LF model. It features New Flyer's unique BRT styling which includes a one-piece windshield, a sleeker front end, as well as the same smoother rear end with recessed taillights found on the restyled designs.
The D40LFA was advertised as early as 2008, but none were known to have been built before the second quarter of 2010. The RPTA division in Mesa, Arizona of Valley Metro in Phoenix is the first operator of this model and likely the only customer as New Flyer has removed the BRT styled section from their Website.
