The New Flyer Industries DE35LFA is a BRT version of the DE35LF. It features New Flyer's unique BRT styling which includes a one-piece windshield, a sleeker front end, as well as the same smoother rear end with recessed taillights found on the restyled designs. The majority of the bus remains the same, but the batteries on the roof have a more streamlined enclosure. The model was launched in 2009 with Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, and was discontinued a year later in favor of the XDE35, thus making WMATA the sole operator of the DE35LFA.
