The New Flyer Industries D45S ITV Viking was New Flyer's attempt at creating a suburban commuter coach bus. Due to competition from other manufacturers, as well as a general lack of customers for the unique vehicle, the Viking was only produced for two years (1998 to 1999) and subsequently discontinued.
The only existing examples of the Viking can be found in Houston, TX and New York, NY. Houston possesses 101 Viking coaches for use on its express routes, and New York owns three that are confined to the X51 route. However, the three New York Vikings are slated to be sold in the near future.
