vicinity
So that when the station opens they can say we created two new routes ! Also it will be nice to see the 40 back to 40ft all day instead of shuttle all day! Also nice to see the 28/83 92,96 getting 40ft again! Does anyone know if the 33/127 will be 40ft or shuttle? GMC T6H-5307N
So, I found this old CT map back in May at a garage sale for free. Here's what it looks like. It looks to be from December 1977. Check out the fares too! Cool pictures of Fishbowls on there, and the one above the charter thing looks to have a antifreeze/water filled bumper on it... Gsgeek540
Does anyone know if the 33/127 will be 40ft or shuttle? Conventional until the end of the afternoon rush and shuttle after that. IIRC, the 127 does not run after 1800, much like the current configuration of the 33.
School Bus 101
Will the 74/174 still be shuttle weekday afternoons?
armorand
One of those pictures said "DART", with bus zones and a logo which heavily reminds me of Winnipegs... Are those actually dial-a-ride transit zones?! That'd be neat if it were! Wasn't even aware that Calgary used to do that.
Gsgeek540
Will the 74/174 still be shuttle weekday afternoons? As previously posted, all routes out of the new Tuscany Station will be community shuttle off peak

Nick B
Would sure be interesting if SG was entirely converted to a CNG garage, but that's obviously not going to happen. It was probably just a typo.

1604
Spring Gardens was deemed not cost effective to house the CNG fleet: Prior to the initiation of the Project, administration from Calgary Transit and Transportation Infrastructure undertook research and planning exercises focussing on expansion and CNG integration for Spring Gardens Garage. CNG was ultimately deemed to not be cost effective at Spring Gardens, and development of a new CNG garage was initiated as a standalone project. http://www.calgary.ca/Transportation/TI/Documents/Transit-projects/stoney-CNG-report.pdf So, I found this old CT map back in May at a garage sale for free. Nick B
So it looks like the new facility will accommodate diesel buses as well after all. Wonder what this is going to look like.
CTrainDude
So it looks like the new facility will accommodate diesel buses as well after all. Wonder what this is going to look like. There's no sense in building it if they wouldn't keep diesel buses there - CT won't be buying 400+ CNG buses before it opens (or maybe ever). It's jsut a garage that COULD support the storage and fueling of CNG buses. In the end, it's just a garage.
TransitOp
And so begins the privatization of Calgary Transit. A P3 garage where one of the conditions for government funding is that all maintenance has to be done by a private company. Feel bad for the mechanics, servicelane and other maintenance personnel who might lose their jobs or miss out on opportunities due to CT building the garage through a P3. Gsgeek540
*can afford BRT/LRT on its own, needs private funding for a garage*Id check your sources on "can afford BRT/LRT"..... Seems like a pretty blind statement to me...several BRT projects have been shelved/postponed indefinately because of lack of funding. Its been more then publicized the fact Calgary has no funding for any new LRT expansions/lines within the next 10 years minimum. That's being able to afford LRT? Really? LRT
Or mabe convert all of AG to trains I can see AG becoming a LRV maintenance facility only (I'm dreaming) A new LRV storage is supposed to be out by hwy 22x isn't it?

Gsgeek540
New wig wags and gates have been installed at Deerfoot Level crossing. It looks like the lunar has been replaced inbound as well.

M. Parsons
New wig wags and gates have been installed at Deerfoot Level crossing. It looks like the lunar has been replaced inbound as well. What are considered "wig wags"? The over the road cantilever signals? Terminology certainly varies, but, this is an example of a traditional wig wag signal:
LRT
For me, wig wags are the lights that flash back and forth or the lights on the crossing gate at a railway crossing or pedestrian crossing. It also can be the lights on police vehicles or other emergency vehicles.....
