Matt Dunlop
BC Transit HAD Hydrogen buses in their fleet a while back (1000-1024, New Flyer H40LFR). It is not confirmed, but there may be Grande West Vicinity CNG and New Flyer XN40s coming to Victoria Regional Transit System and Campbell River Transit System.

Buzz2kb
So just a couple of questions: 1. Why are CNG buses less prevalent in Canada compared to the US? 2. Why are they less common in Eastern Canada? Any insights are appreciated!
Bus_Medic
US Government funding and tax incentives, I believe, and most of the producing fields are west of Manitoba... there is one that reaches into Ontario under Lake Erie from Ohio and Pennsylvania...although with pipelines coast to coast, it shouldn’t matter much. Local employment stimulus perhaps?

Chris W
HSR, where I'm from, has had a mix of Compressed Natural Gas powered buses from 1992 onwards. Our first were the converted GM New Looks, then the 9100/9200 Orion Vs, 1999 Orion VIs, 2002 Ford ELF cutaways and 1996, 1998 and 2002-03 New Flyer C40LFs. In 2015, HSR overhauled the CNG fuelling facility and currently we have 29 New Flyer XN60 artics, 11 Grande West Vicinity CNG 30 foot buses and 97 NovaBus LFS Natural Gas 40 footers. We're locked in with CNG until at least 2021 because of the work on the fuelling station. We re-invested in CNG at the time when the price of CNG was less than the price of diesel.

Mitsubishi Fuso 6512
Miami Dade Transit had their first 1992 CNG and Methanol Flxible Metro B ADB (40102-6C CNG and 40102-6T Methanol) but later Converted to Diesel in late 1990s due to the buses running slow. By the way, Miami Dade Transit has 2018-19 New Flyer XN40 CNGs and they we're the 2nd CNG buses for Miami. And 2019 181 Gillig BRT Plus CNGs are on order and they will be delivered this October.
